About Fully Funded PhD in Neuroscience 

The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill provides a PhD in Neuroscience that is completely supported. Students enter the Biological & Biomedical Sciences curriculum (BBSP), which is an umbrella biomedical sciences curriculum.

Students are supported during their first year of BBSP and then have the option of choosing from a number of PhD programs, including Neuroscience.

All students pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience receive stipend support and complete tuition.

A training grant from the National Institutes of Health, funds from the School of Medicine, health insurance, and competitive fellowships offered by the Graduate School all help new students get started.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Earned master’s degree prior to entering the PhD.
  • You are expected to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and subject-specific GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • English language proficiency requirements (non-native English speakers)
