About Postdoctoral Position

Europe has committed to upscale nature protection to include 30% of land and sea, but due to historical overexploitation of natural assets, the area that is available for protection is limited. Borders between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, i.e., riparian zones, contribute disproportionately to regional biodiversity and delivery of ecosystem functions and services. Because of this and their branching geometry, riparian networks form systems of ‘green-blue arteries’, which spatially connect multiple ecosystems, despite representing relatively small areas. In this international project (RIPARIANET), we aim to develop approaches that optimise the spatial conservation prioritisation of stream-riparian networks, by investigating a range of riparian processes and functions and biodiversity measures, and by performing field studies as well as by using remote sensing information.

About Postdoctoral Position

Our multi-professional research group at the Department of Community Medicine and Rehabilitation; Physiotherapy, studies human movement control particularly in persons with movement deficits following trauma or disease. The current research project addresses the consequences of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Based on specific research questions, we aim to assess how knee function and movement ability are affected and how this and psychological aspects, such as fear of secondary injury, affect the individual We also develop and evaluate assessment methods for these aspects based on, e.g., three-dimensional movement analysis, brain imaging techniques, clinical tests and questionnaires.

About Postdoctoral Position

The aim of this project is to understand and quantify the impacts of burrowing earthworm expansion on plant-soil interactions or soil food webs in Sweden’s northern forests, and how these changes feedback onto ecosystem processes. We will use controlled mesocosm experiments to quantify the effects of burrowing earthworms on northern soils and plants. There are also opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration with other projects studying earthworms, for example with eDNA techniques.

About Postdoctoral Position

We are an interdisciplinary team of experimentalists, analysts and modellers, who work together closely to address important questions of malaria parasite development and transmission. We are now looking for an experimental geneticist for projects funded by the European Research Council and the Wallenberg Foundation. Aim of the position is to study the biology of sexual development and transmission of malaria parasite and their interactions with the vector. We seek to gain a genome-level mechanistic understanding of malaria transmission to get at the questions of vector competence and develop transmission blocking strategies.

7. Postdoctoral Fellowship

About Postdoctoral Position

Lagerlöf Lab is a diverse group of people with a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, neuronal circuit mapping and clinical psychiatry. We integrate these techniques to reveal how appetite is encoded by the brain. Our overall aim is to identify fundamental mechanisms of food intake that can be harnessed to treat conditions associated with unhealthy eating habits such as anorexia nervosa and obesity. The goal of this project is to develop a novel biosensor to image in the brain how specific metabolic signaling pathways affect food intake. Every member in our lab is supported to lead their own project. We believe in fostering an environment where everyone enjoys the freedom, courage and ability to answer the big questions in neuroscience.
