About Fully Funded PhD in Computer Science
The University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, offers a fully financed PhD in Computer Science program. The Ph.D. in computer science program is a research-oriented degree.
Students pursuing a Ph.D. in computer science (CS) must do original research in a subfield of CS under the supervision of a CS faculty advisor.
Eligibility Criteria
- The completion of a four-year undergraduate degree (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- You are expected to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and subject-specific GPA of 3.5 or above.
- English language proficiency requirements (non-native English speakers)
PhD Funding Coverage
All our PhD students receive teaching or research assistantships that fully cover tuition and additionally provide a stipend for living expenses. This support is guaranteed for a minimum of four years, given good academic standing.
In recent years, many of our MCS students have also been funded through teaching or research assistantships.
