About Fully Funded PhD in Health Policy and Administration 

Penn State University in University Park, Pennsylvania, provides a fully financed PhD in Health Policy and Administration.

Designed for students who desire to work in both academic and non-academic research environments. After finishing the first year of the program, you will be able to choose between three specialist tracks: health economics, healthcare administration and organizations, or population health and demography.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Earned master’s degree prior to entering the PhD.
  • You are expected to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and subject-specific GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • English language proficiency requirements (non-native English speakers)

PhD Funding Coverage

Students entering the Health Policy doctoral program are funded through graduate assistantships. Our assistantships provide roughly $22,000 per year in support, along with a tuition waiver and access to health insurance.

Those making adequate progress in the program can expect to receive three years of funding at this level. In subsequent years, financial support is available through faculty research grants or teaching opportunities within the department.

Applicants with exceptional credentials are nominated for university-wide fellowships that provide additional funding.
